Each year, the steering committee, the working committee, and the selection committee will select up to five applicants who meet the criteria, and nominate them to get a final decision from the Board of Trustees of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation, of which HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is the president.

Successful applicants will receive a scholarship for working by training or studying abroad, as proposed by the scholars, with full support from the foundation for 12 months.
